About Us
Shenace Whippet Kennels is situated 15 minutes north of the Auckland Harbour Bridge.
We are a small kennel specialising in quality whippets of true type and distinction. Our first whippet "Rocky' introduced us into the show scene. A class win with 'Rocky' at a ribbon parade sowed the seed of addiction. Sadly we lost 'Rocky' within a few months of having him. We received a gorgeous bitch that was given to us to help heal the loss of 'Rocky'. Little did we realise that 'Lacey' would become the foundation bitch for Shenace Kennels.
We went on to breed our first litter in 1992 that produced the glorious Ch Shenace Mayd'n Heav'n "Mikayla" who not only excelled in the show ring, but also in the whelping box. Mikayla put our names up there with the big guns with her breath taking beauty. She is also the mother of our outstanding 'Lulu' aka NZ GR CH Shenace Back At Ya.
1997 saw the birth of our daughter Kate who has a natural way with our lovely hounds. We went on to produce another beautiful daughter in 1999, Renae, who also is a star in the lead training and feeding departments. Our girls already insist on 'showing' the dogs and adore helping Mum groom the dogs for shows.
On average, with less than one litter per year, we have enjoyed considerable success in the show ring, agility ring, success also in the obedience ring and we have up and coming stars on the race track....
